OlyPaul (real name Paul Silk) is yet another very talented photographer we can boast about here on DPNow. A real enthusiast, he's has been a keen user of Pentax gear as well as Olympus and he often puts in the efffort not only to post his own work in the galleries and forum but also to help others with mini tutorials on Lightroom, Photoshop and other applications. Paul is very good at photographing almost everything he turns his attention to but there are two themes that re-occur frequently, great portraits of his family, especially his grandchildren, and both his own dogs and those thet he and his dogs meet on walks. Canine shots may not be to everyone's taste but few could argue that Paul's work in this area lacks impact. Paul explains:
"It was taken on one of what used to be my regular walks around Sandwell Valley, Dexter my Jack Russell met this Shitsu and they just hit it off and I got a lot of pics of them action and static, but this one stood out for me. I could not have posed it better. It was taken with the Pentax K-r and DA 50-200mm."
Taken in 2012, Paul posted this shot recently on the DPNow forum as an entry in one of our regular Salon photo challenges, which has the theme of 'Song Titles'. The song Paul had in mind for this shot was: 'Why can't we be friends', by War.
