Pops (real name Paul) is best known on the DPNow forum and galleries for his great garden birds photography. But as with all really good photographers he is pretty versatile and we have also seen some other types of creative photography from Paul. Here Paul has ventured away from home and produced a lovely shot for a previous salon challenge at the end of last year with the them 'Lake reflections'. Now, I know Paul labelled his picture 'duck2' but even I can see that this isn't a duck! It's probably a baby coot, but I am no expert. Nevertheless, the shot is technically excellent and the reflection in the smooth water surface has been captured well. Borders and frames in images can be contentious and are a highly personal thing but I also like the way Paul has framed his shot here. 'duck2' wasn't the winner of the challenge, but in its own right I think this is a winner.
