Pops (real name: Paul), as we have come to know here on Digital Photography Now, is a master at both attracting and photographing garden birds. Many of us would be very excited to see a bullfinch in our garden, and here is an amusing and technically excellent capture of a male bullfinch with his head squeezed into a sunflower hearts feeder. The picture is perfectly focused and exposed and the bullfinch itself looks to be in perfect condition. Paul actually managed to take this shot in a very relaxed manner as he explains:
"Not a lot behind it really. It's one I took from the comfort of my chair using the wireless remote. I don't usually keep any headless captures but in this case I liked the full length of the orange breast contrasting with the tail and the wing."
What makes this picture for me is that it's rather unusual and definitely smile-inducing! Incidentally, Paul write an article about photographing garden birds for use a while back.
