Gina is our featured photographer who kicks-off a new season of the Digital Photography Now Picture of the Day. Gina is well known on DPNow and is an enthusiastic photographer with all-round talent, but her speciality is in photographing people. The shot we have selected today is of Gina's own daughter. The amazing make-up and stunning blue eyes peeking over a wall all add up to a striking portrait. Gina explains what she did:
"This image of my daughter's vivid eyes was taken on a day we had some fun with UV make-up. My daughters and I had a lot of giggles taking photos and I think it's very important to have fun with photography and do new things as well as learning the technicalities of the craft.
"Since taking this shot in July 2009, my skills have changed quite a lot for the better I hope. My absolute passion is newborns, babies and children as they grow so fast and the feeling I get from capturing a moment in time will be an everlasting memory."

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day.
