TrevWhite (Trevor White) is from New Zealand, and you can also see his fantastic work as ddigit here on DPNow. Trevor and his wife Dianne live in the rural town of Rangiora, not far from Christchurch, the New Zealand city that was devastated by an earthquake earlier this week. We haven't heard from Trevor or Dianne recently, and we do of course hope that they are well despite the quake. I came across this image that Trevor took in a park in Christchurch last year and immediately thought that it should be a topical POTD. As we have come to expect from Trevor, the composition is delightful and he has used an ambitious vellum-style border to great effect. The blurry margins of the photo were creatively effected with the help of a LensBaby accessory lens. I can't help but wonder what this beautiful little scene might look like now.

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day. The gallery facility here is completely free; all you need to do is register as a user on our discussion forum and you will get an automatic 25MB of space, which is good for around 125 pictures uploaded at web resolution, about 200K per picture. At the time of writing we had almost 18,000 pictures on the galleries and it's well worth a browse.
