TrevWhite - is our featured photographer on the DPNow Picture of the Day this Friday. Kiwi Trevor, also known as ddigit, has blessed the Digital Photography Now Picture of the Day several times in the past, primarily with fabulous landscapes from New Zealand. Today we have another landscape, taken at dawn at Waikuku beach, on New Zealand's South Island. The warm glow of the light at this time of the day, whether or not it's been tweaked a bit, is what this picture is all about. The misty detail adds form, resulting in an atmospheric country scene. I do wonder what the object is in the foreground, though.

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day. The gallery facility here is completely free; all you need to do is register as a user on our discussion forum and you will get an automatic 25MB of space, which is good for around 125 pictures uploaded at web resolution, about 200K per picture. At the time of writing we had just over 13,000 pictures on the galleries and it's well worth a browse.
