New Zealander Trevor White (known as 'ddigit', or 'Kiwi Trev' on DPNow) is back - again - on POTD. We're losing count how many times Trevor has earned a DPNow POTD. Here we have a stitched panorama with a splendid rainbow as the focal point.
Trevor explains: "This photo was taken with my Nikon 8800. I had been cycling the "rail trail" and didn't take my SLR cause it is precious. It was early morning and had been raining when I left Clyde about 6 miles away.
"This rainbow followed for a while. At one point I turned around and took the multiple images. I used a program called Autopano Pro to sort of stitch the images together. Some of the overlaps didnt work so I had to edit the joins. The exposures were pretty good so the image balanced."
Not everything is as it was, though, reveals Trevor: "I have to confess though that the little shed on the left was placed there by me - the original photo of the area including the shed was quite distorted so I cropped it back and (off another photo of the path and shed) isolated the shed and pasted it in."

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day. The gallery facility here is completely free; all you need to do is register as a user on our discussion forum and you will get an automatic 25MB of space, which is good for around 125 pictures uploaded at web resolution, about 200K per picture. At the time of writing we had nearly 10,000 pictures on the galleries and it's well worth a browse.
