Ash contributed this image via the DPNow gallery to a photo challenge on our forum with the theme 'Trees'. You might be surprised that this entry didn't make the short list, which in no way means the winning images were inferior. However, I felt this landscape deserves a day of glory as a POTD. Perhaps it's the deep blue sky that helps after the wettest and gloomiest winter on record here in the UK. The perspectove of tree shadows on lush green grass also appeal. And at the centre is a pretty arched bridge glowing in the sunlight. Vignette has been used to good effect and overall this is simply a very beautiful country scene beautifully captured.
An ultra wide angle lens was used by Ash to capture this scene on his Nikon D7000 DSLR.
