How DPNow Pictures of the Day are selected
You will find today's featured photographer, Scott Brehaut, known as scivster, on the DPNow discussion forum and photo galleries. Scott, who is from Guernsey in the Channel Islands, is one of no less than five members who are DPNow forum and gallery members. Scott's picture is simple, yet appealing and taken using a comparatively basic camera.
"The photo was taken using a Minolta Dimage Z1", explains Scott, continuing: It was my Dad's camera (username Mowgli) and I bought it off him when he purchased another camera. The photo was taken on a rather warm day in a lane close to one of our parks in Guernsey (Saumarez Park for those of you who are clued up on Guernsey).
"As we were walking I was just taking random pictures when I saw the leaves on this one tree and decided to take a few photos of it. I really liked the colour of the leaves and was thrilled when I got home and saw that they had come out rather well. The result is the picture you see today, the camera focussed well on the leaves. I did have one of the whole tree as well, but preferred this picture of just a few leaves together (I used the zoom to take this). I haven't altered the photo in any way - I very rarely do as I prefer to show my photos "as is".

The othe members of Scott's family who are DPNow members include his Dad, Mum and two of his uncles. "I enjoy taking photos around the island, although very rarely post them onto my gallery - I really should start to put some more on there," says Scott and, yes you should, Scott!
"I really enjoy taking pictures of different sceneries (if that makes sense) as we are so blessed over here in Guernsey to have such a magnificent coastline, old bunkers and towers from the occupation, and some amazing sunsets. I'm just a novice, just taking photos as a hobby."
