Bass Fishing, by Jerry Segraves:
How DPNow Pictures of the Day are selectedJerry is a very fortunate guy as he drives through a wildlife sanctuary most days on his way to and from work. The picture from his
gallery that caught our eye for today's DPNow Picture of the Day is of a Great Blue Heron skilfully downing a Largemouth Bass that Jerry estimates must weigh in the region of 3lbs (1.5kg).
Says Jerry: "I have been a nature photographer for several years and I live in the heart of central Kansas' USA sand prairies. Just 13 miles from home is a world renowned wildlife refuge (Quivira National Wildlife Refuge) which sits right in the middle of the central flyway and the migratory birds that come through here year round are just wonderful! I shoot all Canon EOS digital and have 3 DSLRs with an assortment of lenses."
