Emphasis, by Matt Kneale:
How DPNow Pictures of the Day are selectedMatt Kneale is only 15 years old, which makes his photography all the more impressive. What's more, Matt has only been a member of the
DPNow forum and
photo gallery for ten days.
His picture, taken last October and called 'Emphasis', is our pick for today's DPNow Picture of the Day. Matt has acheived a very stylistic low angle study of a modern car, capturing the flowing curves of the car's form really well. It also has a thoughtful and moody quality about it thanks to the lighting and some post-processing.
"I decided to take this picture when I decided to give transportation images a go, rather than my usual landscapes and animal photography," explains Matt., adding: "The image was taken with my Sony DSC-P200 camera (not exactly top-notch), and was taken by hand from a crouched position.
"The image was then taken into Adobe Photoshop and I added soft vignetting, border and text, and because of this I'm not entirely certain on the technical details of the photograph." No matter, the result is what really counts.

Matt adds: "I'm a fifteen year old photographer from Nottingham, United Kingdom. The majority of my spare time is spent on photography, le parkour (a discipline) and music. My photography styles generally associate along the lines of landscapes and animal photography, although I have been known to take other forms (such as this picture). I've been a member of deviantART for two years, and that has led to the increasing quality of photographs I produce.
