Olmec Continues To Reward Student Talent
ICI Imagedata announces Olmec Student Digital Photographer Competition now in its fourth year
The Olmec Student Digital Photographer of the Year Competition for 2005 is now open for entries.
Sponsored by ICI Imagedata, the leading UK manufacturer of Olmec photo papers, the Competition is designed to find the best student digital photographers in the country. Since it was established, it has proved a great success, with many colleges, universities and students taking part and an excellent standard of work submitted.
The 2005 Competition will, once again, will be open to all students studying photography as part of a full- or part-time course, with an emphasis on the creative use of digital technology.
The theme of the competition is images for life, with three entry categories PEOPLE, PLACES and STILL LIFE.
Major Cash Prizes
The winner of the best overall image will receive £2,000 in cash, each category winner will receive a cash prize of £250 and the winning college or university will receive £500 worth of Olmec products. There will also be additional special prizes yet to be announced.
International Exposure
Entrants will have the opportunity to take part in the BAA Gallery at Heathrow Terminal 2, which showcases many images from the Student Competition to an international audience.
Judging Panel for the 2004 Competition includes Simon Bainbridge, Editor of British Journal of Photography, award winning photographer Richard Mildenhall and Katie Richardson, Sales & Marketing Manager of ICI Inkjet Papers.

Students can enter through their college or university. Colleges can register for entry by completing an entry form or direct via the ICI Imagedata website at

Closing date for receipt of entries is 6th March 2006.
