LONDON, 9 June, 2003 – HP today announces its new scanner, the HP Scanjet 8200c. With its unique 4800 dpi and four second preview time, the Scanjet 8200c offers unrivalled quality scanning and is ideal for the creative enthusiast seeking an attractive, high performance scanner.

Through improved optics and advanced scanning positioning, the Scanjet 8200c is HP's first scanner to feature an optical resolution as high as 4800 dpi at 48-bit colour, producing the ultimate in image quality. In addition, the scanner comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 to enable professional image editing for print or web applications.

The HP Scanjet 8200c is ready instantly, taking no time to warm up, and offering an image preview in just four seconds. It has an easy to use full front control panel with an array of one touch-buttons, which include Scan, Email, Edit Text (OCR) and Save to PDF.

The Scanjet 8200c also provides users, through the easy to use transparent material adapter integrated into its lid, the opportunity to scan both 35 mm slides and negatives. CCD technology also enables scanning of 3D objects.

To ensure the complete Digital Imaging package, the HP Scanjet 8200c includes their Photo & Imaging software. This application provides access to a variety of creative options from a single software interface, enabling users to do far more with their scanned images, ranging from simply sharpening the pictures to total image manipulation. Users can also use the HP Memories Disc Creator software to make their own multimedia slideshow of the scanned photos, selecting music to accompany their memories which can then be viewed via TV or computer.
