LONDON, July 15, 2003 – today unveiled its new sleek photo-quality scanners, the HP ScanJet 3670, the HP ScanJet 3690 and the HP ScanJet 3970. Their easy to use features and user-friendly software make them perfect for loading favourite photos, transparencies or digital images to the desktop so people can experiment with creative photo projects and share them with friends and family.

HP's Instant Share technology, which is in-built in all three scanners, allows users to email scanned images to friends and family rather than sending weighty attachments, to create photo albums on the web or, to upload images to the desktop for later use. With the ability to scan slides and negatives via the built-in Transparent Materials Adapter, the HP ScanJets 3670, 3690 and 3970 are versatile devices offering the perfect solution, whatever creative need people have.

Priced at £69, the fast and easy to use HP ScanJet 3670 is ideal for novices. It provides superior image quality with 1200 dpi optical resolution and 48-bit colour and enables creative scanning for all document types including photos, slides and negatives.

Priced at £79, the HP ScanJet 3690 makes all scanning tasks from school projects, personalising letters or calendars to Christmas and birthday cards simple and fun. It provides superior image quality with 1200 dpi optical resolution and 48-bit colour and, comes with Arcsoft® Photo Impression 4 software. Creating photo projects with special effects using the re-touch tools, templates and multiple photo printing frames couldn't be simpler.

HP ScanJet 3690

Priced at £99, the HP ScanJet 3970 is the perfect for scanning anything from cherished photos to family heirlooms or other 3D objects. It features a newly designed lid and four easy to use one-touch buttons, providing scans and copies with 2400x2400 dpi optical resolution and 48-bit colour. Additional software is also provided.

HP Memories Disc Creator makes creating personalised slide-shows with music and preserving scanned family memories on to CD-ROM or DVD simple. HP's patented Dual CCD sensor technology ensures all scans are sharp and crisp whilst the Optical Character Resolution (OCR) technology allows documents to be digitised into text and easily edited by word processing programmes.

All the new scanners feature HP Photo & Imaging software to make scanning simple to learn and easy to use. They are PC and Mac compatible as well as USB 2.0 (the HP ScanJet 3970 features USB high speed).
