Sharing Memories has never been Easier with HP's New Scanner

LONDON, 2 July 2003 – today announces a new addition to their scanner range, the stylish HP Scanjet 2400. This digital flatbed scanner offers an easy to use, affordable option in the scanner market, ideal for those looking to capture and scan photos and memorabilia without sacrificing quality.

The HP Scanjet 2400 offers consumers a scanner four times better quality than its predecessor, yet at the same low price. This scanner boasts 1200 x 1200 dpi optical resolution and 48-bit colour, generating impressive, full colour, photo quality scans.

'Consumers are looking for the best ways to get creative with their photo collections and in some cases edit them', says Tim Potter, HP's Image Capture Product Manager. 'The HP Scanjet 2400 is an ideal tool for anyone wanting to do this, providing them with impressive imaging at a low cost.'

The two one-touch buttons included on the front panel not only allow for effortless scanning and but can also turn the scanner into a colour copier (with the PC and colour printer). What's more, the HP Scanjet 2400 features USB connectivity – compatible with USB 2.0 specifications – making it quick and simple to install as well as to use.

In addition, this new scanner includes HP Photo & Imaging software, making it easy to scan, edit, resize and store images. It also provides the tools to share photos by e-mail, website and CD as well as being able to reprint them in a variety of creative layouts. HP Photo and Imaging software also allows quick access to other applications on the PC for advanced users to include photography in any project.

The HP Scanjet 2400 gives users the option to scan 3D objects and turn their cherished mementos into digital images, which can then be saved or shared. Also, with the included OCR technology, documents can be digitised into text and then easily edited by word processing programmes.

Pricing and Availability:
The HP Scanjet 2400 scanner has an estimated street price of £49 (inc VAT) and is available from selected retailers.
