UPDATE - more photo friendly psc 950 introduced.

Hewlett-Packard has produced an improved all-in-one printer/scanner and copier for home users. Based on HP’s popular 900-series 1200x600dpi ink-jet printer engine, which uses PhotoRet III rendering, the psc750 is being pitched as a low cost photo printing solution. The psc750 is basically a 900-series colour ink-jet printer with an A4 1200x600dpi flat bed scanner bolted on top.

At only £199 (inc.VAT), maybe we shouldn’t expect the psc750 to be a class-leading photo performer, but it promises to be a leader in the home office all-rounder affordability stakes. Software provided enables the psc750 to produce a page of copies from a single original, like a passport photo, for example.

It can also reduce and enlarge and make posters up to 3x4 feet from one original. Claimed print speed is up to 11 pages per minute (ppm) in mono mode and 8.5ppm in colour mode. The psc750 is available from the 1st July.
