Eurotech, a PC peripherals specialist, has come up with a low cost graphics tablet. Called the Acecat, the £39.95 (inc.VAT) tablet connects via USB and sports a cordless pressure-sensitive pen.
The pad itself is 125mm (5 inches) across and offers a resolution down to 0.25mm. Three-buttons adorn the pen, which has 512 levels of pressure sensitivity.
It’s cordless because it is battery powered and can be used as a pen mouse as well as a graphic input device. Claimed specification is similar to the best-selling Wacom Graphire tablet, but at almost half the price. We at DPN will be reviewing one in due course.
Eurotech’s Web site is at www.euro-tech.co.uk, but there was little information on the Acecat there when we last looked. The Taiwanese manufacturer, Ace CAD Enterprise, has some detailed information on its Web site at www.acecad.com.tw/acecat_usb.htm.
