Official Kodak UK press release:New Kodak EasyShare System Produces High-Quality Prints Simply - Anywhere, Anytime New cameras, software and camera docks establish next milestones for digital photography (London, UK, May 24, 2002): This week Eastman Kodak Company introduced the new, enhanced EasyShare digital photography system, providing consumers with the simplest means of obtaining quality prints from a digital camera. Comprising the all-new Kodak EasyShare software package, the Kodak EasyShare CX4230 Zoom camera and the Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock II, the new system gives consumers the ability to upload easily and print high-quality photographs, at the touch of a button, from home, online or via a retail outlet. Kodak's own world-wide research (undertaken by Market Facts) identified that as more people start using digital cameras and taking pictures, they want an easier way to find and organise their pictures. "Kodak set the standard for consumer satisfaction a century ago, and today the enhanced EasyShare system has set a new standard for ease-of-use in the digital age," said Gareth Jones, Regional Business General Manager and Vice President, Kodak D&AI (Eamer). "Kodak offers consumers more ways to get high-quality prints more conveniently than ever before." Kodak EasyShare Software - Print, e-mail, Organise, Edit The new Kodak EasyShare system features a series of technological advances that give consumers an unmatched digital photography experience; the key to the system is the powerful and all-new Kodak EasyShare Software. Once the consumer has docked the camera in the EasyShare Camera Dock, pictures are automatically transferred to the "Print at Home" page, and are ready to start printing. A dynamic preview screen gives an immediate view of the printing layout and, with Kodak's One Touch To Better Pictures, the user can obtain hassle-free, stunning prints from virtually any printer, using Kodak paper. To facilitate this further Kodak's first next-generation EasyShare camera, the CX4230, features a new 'share' button. The innovative One Touch Share button lets the user tag pictures for printing, emailing or as favourites direct on the camera's LCD screen. The on-camera print tagging is as simple as choosing the print and selecting the number of prints required. When the camera is docked and images transferred, the software automatically opens the print screen for printing at home, or online. The camera also stores up to 32 email addresses, and users simply tag the image for e-mailing and select an address directly from the camera. Again, when the camera is docked, an e-mail message automatically opens with the tagged pictures ready to send. The Kodak EasyShare software includes a host of organisational and editing features, that makes finding pictures simple. With thumbnail viewing, the 'My Collection' feature allows users to sort images by date, favourites, labels, and the last acquired. Customised labels allow the user to file and organise their pictures without having to move files into folders, which can be tagged into categories such as family/holidays/weddings/pets/sport etc, allowing for fast and easy retrieval. Images - which can be filed and accessed in both individual or multiple categories - can also by viewed by slide-show or full-screen. The Kodak EasyShare CX4230 The 2 megapixel Kodak EasyShare CX4230 Zoom Digital Camera offers stunning prints up to 8" x 10", outstanding results being guaranteed by its superior all-glass Kodak Retinar 3X optical zoom lens. Built-in Kodak colour science technology also helps deliver image quality that rivals traditional photography. The CX4230 and all current Kodak EasyShare cameras are compatible with the new Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock II, which allows users to transfer their digital images at the touch of a button, and benefit from enhanced battery charging. "We've used our technology - the world's deepest pool and digital imaging patents - to make the consumer experience better, with the best features for ease-of-use," concluded Gareth Jones. "Whether at home with inkjet media, online or at retail stores using Kodak Picture Maker kiosks, the Kodak EasyShare system makes it easy to get the highest quality prints from your digital camera." The Kodak CX4230 Zoom Digital Camera will be available from the beginning of July, priced at £199.99 (inc VAT).
