New partners helping DPN to flourish

This article is unashamedly about commercial partnerships Digital Photography Now is forging with various service providers. Without them, this site could not survive for long, let alone develop and prosper. It’s understandable if this topic is not of interest, but if you happen to be keen to help DPN progress, then please read on...

From today we’re partnering a premier online photographic goods supplier, www.internetcamerasdirect.co.uk (see banner below), our sponsorship from Olympus UK/Eire goes from strength to strength and we’d like clarify the best way to make use of our affiliate relationship with Fotango, the Canon-owned online photo print and print sharing service.

Finally, DPN has been so successful that our site hosting company, 1&1, is featuring us in its latest advertising brochure that is destined for a print run of over one million copies!

Buy your cameras and accessories through us!

Today, Digital Photography Now is pleased to announce a new partnership with www.internetcamerasdirect.co.uk – (we’ll shorten that to ICD for convenience!). From today, you can order digital (and film) cameras, accessories and peripherals via ICD banners on Digital Photography Now pages. ICD specialises in affordable consumer camera models through to advanced amateur models rather than the most expensive high-end digital cameras.

By placing your orders via the links from our site you will generate a valuable commission for us that will go towards the continued upkeep and development of this site.

Why should you buy from ICD?

Apart from the sense of helping DPN generate the regular income needed for this site grow and improve, we think DPN readers will at least consider ICD as a supplier as the company has already established a good reputation as an online photographic mail order supplier. ICD’s prices are usually competitive, there are various value-added offers like bundled accessories you won’t get from other suppliers and the company promises quick, efficient and friendly service. The company subscribes to the Which? Web Traders code of practice.

We’re certainly not suggesting ICD is the only place you should shop online, but would be grateful if you could consider them when you need something and check their range via one of the banners on our site. If you go directly to their site, we will not benefit from any purchases made.

Olympus keeps us in the PIX

Olympus continues to be one of the driving forces that enables DPN to survive and prosper. Their financial support and encouragement has been vital to DPN in recent months.

The latest Olympus promotion you may have noticed this month on DPN is for its PIX microsite (see banner above). This is a specialist resource that aims to highlight the value of selected Olympus dealers who have undergone training by Olympus which merits the award of PIX (Photo Imaging eXpert) status. The nationwide PIX network of dealers will be able to use their enhanced knowledge of digital photography and the Olympus product range, in particular, to help their customers find the best solutions.

The PIX site can help you find your nearest Olympus PIX dealer. There are also special offer promotions and competitions. Currently, you have the opportunity to win an Olympus Eyetrek personal LCD display outfit, worth £299 (see above). The PIX site is definitely worth monitoring regularly, especially if you are an Olympus fan.

Have you been Fotango’d?

We have been an affiliate of Fotango, the Canon-owned online photo printing and sharing service, since last year. Some of you have found the service to be of high quality and good value. If you have already used Fotango via DPN, may we remind you that if part of the motivation to use Fotango was to help DPN, when returning to Fotango to order more prints, don’t forget to access their site via the DPN Fotango banners. Unless you do, this site won’t benefit.

Our other affiliates

In Association with Amazon.co.uk

While we’re at it – a quick word about our other affiliate partners; we’re very grateful whenever you use the Ask Jeeves service (on most pages) from within DPN, as well as the Amazon.com online ordering service (see graphic above left).

CompactFlash from Crucial Technology!

We’ve been a Crucial Technology affiliate (see above) for some time, but their Compact Flash memory prices weren’t that hot, so we pulled the banners. Crucial’s prices are much more competitive now, with 128MB cards under £39 plus VAT. Crucial is a division of Micron Technology, a long established chip manufacturer, not just a reseller.

Finally, Nikon CoolPix owners, if you haven’t already investigated the brilliant eBook “Mastering Nikon Compact Digital Cameras” by Peter iNova, now’s your chance. It’s had rave reviews in dozens of publications and has been described as a ‘must have’ for Nikon compact digicam owners. It’s also a great gift if you know anyone using a Nikon CoolPix camera. By ordering this eBook through DPN you earn a discount for yourself and a commission for us. Click the banner above to find out more.

There are more exciting DPN developments on the way and we’ll bring news of these at a later date. In the mean time, please take time to look at the DPN discussion forum, or drop us a line via the ‘feedback’ links to give us your views and ideas on anything to do with DPN and digital photography in general.
