Ash has created a dynamic and exciting photograph of his wife and son in today's featured DPNow Picture of the Day. The composition is vibrant with the subjects matching the almost lurid shooting angle and with the drama of the bridge above completing the picture. The black and white treatment also works well here:
Ash explains: "It was taken last Sept at the Humber Bridge, i'ts Ann, my wife and Thomas messing around. It's a miracle Emily did not manage to get in the shot on this one. Nikon D90, sigma 10-20 @ 20mm 1/200, f11 iso 200 used built in flash for a bit of fill. I've had a look in LR3 and I played around with this trying lots of different tones, finally settled on basically the b&w look 3 preset, boosted exposure & sharpness & boosted blacks.
And very effective it is too!
