pewidane is better known as Peder Winge on the DPNow forum and galleries. He's from Denmark, is retired, but he is possibly the busiest photographer we have here at DPNow. His two loves are landscapes of his native Nykøbing Falster, in south eastern Denmark, and a keen eye for abstract imagery. He's also pretty good at photographing people. Today we feature one of his abstracts. It's a skilfully framed study of some painted legends on a white wall. Time has eroded the paintwork, but the red and blue colours still have vigour. Not everyone has a natural affinity to this kind of imagery, but it definitely cuts the mustard as an abstract.

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day. The gallery facility here is completely free; all you need to do is register as a user on our discussion forum and you will get an automatic 25MB of space, which is good for around 125 pictures uploaded at web resolution, about 200K per picture. At the time of writing we had almost 16,000 pictures on the galleries and it's well worth a browse.
