And you voted for entry number 5, the clear winner in the voting, from Geoff Jackson - many congratulations to Geoff! And what a difference Geoff has achieved, thanks to extracting unseen details from the supplied RAW file.
Geoff was kind enough to send some information about his entry: "Please find attached my effort for the Photo Fix 5 challenge. My aim was to bring out all the detail of the image using the raw version to start off with, obviously the sea needed bringing out and colouring blue a little, and the boys needed enhancing but I have not added anything else to the image. This was done in Photoshop CS4, it was a bit of a tricky task but I think I got there in the end! Your picture is a good example of how much detail is captured in a raw file before it is converted to a jpg."
Now I have to make a confession; the burned out background wasn't sea, or even water. It was just some brush land, although there was a lake out of the picture. Nevertheless, Geoff has produced a ver attractive result and it's unsurprising that his entry earned so many votes.
