dpnow.com welcomes Steve's Digicams to the DIWA fold

We at dpnow.com are extremely pleased to welcome Steve's Digicams into the DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association) fold.

Steve's Digicams, which is run by Florida-based photography enthusiast, Steve Sanders and his family, is the most popular US-based editorial review site specialising on digital photography products.

When I started dpnow back in August 2001 I was inspired by the two biggest sites in the field, Steve's Digicams and Phil Askey's UK-based dpreview.com. So it's with great satisfaction that, as a co-founder of DIWA, I find myself welcoming Steve's Digicams to a venture that I can call, in part at least, my own.

Like it or not, you will be hearing more about DIWA in the future. Now comprising nine dedicated web-based digital photography magazines across Europe, as well as the US, DIWA's aim to help consumers find rock-solid marks for digital imaging product quality excellence. These are Gold, Silver and Bronze DIWA awards, with annual Platinum awards that celebrate the very best of the best each year.

Why should you trust DIWA awards more than any others? First of all the awards are only decided on tough product test scoring criteria. On top of that, a minimum quota of test reports for a single given product must be submitted by different DIWA member sites before that product can be considered for an award. By examining lots of results DIWA can spot inconsistencies caused by human error or product sample variability. Naturally, we've been introducing DIWA to the industry and we're constantly being told that the DIWA formula is just what they need.

By signing up the leading US-based site, DIWA's credibility has been further strengthened. Steve's Digicams is the latest in a fast-growing DIWA line-up of expert digital photography sites – there are more to come, I'm sure.
