Founder member leaves DIWA but wishes them well
Digital Photography Now (dpnow.com) has officially ended its involvement in the Digital Imaging Websites Association (DIWA), the independent editorial body dpnow helped launch as a founder member in 2003.
The DIWA concept, formulated by Kai Thon of the Norwegian online digital photography magazine Digit.no, aggregates uniformly selected test scores from product reviews carried out by a quota of member sites to eliminate errors.
Ian Burley, the editor and founder of dpnow.com and former DIWA general manager, commented: "I'm very proud to have been involved in the launch of DIWA, but for some time DIWA has been moving in a different direction to dpnow. DIWA's current management have chosen their path and so we must go in different directions.
"Our differences aside, I do think Kai's fundamental idea is excellent and I hope DIWA will eventually find the success that this idea deserves. Of course, I wish DIWA well."
