Today, our featured photographer on the DPNow Picture of the Day is a photographer registered on the DPNow forum and galleries as Mias. This is not the first time we have featured Mias on POTD. Last October we featured a remarkable cloud-bathed moon image from Mias. Today we have another sky view, this time with an interesting mix of cloud types and what appears to be a setting sun partially obscured by a leaf-less tree. It's a moot point as to whether the structure in the bottom right hand corner adds to the picture or not, but for me it's almost beside the point. The blue tone of this image works well with the structure of the detail in the sky.

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day. The gallery facility here is completely free; all you need to do is register as a user on our discussion forum and you will get an automatic 25MB of space, which is good for around 125 pictures uploaded at web resolution, about 200K per picture. At the time of writing we had just over11,500 pictures on the galleries and it's well worth a browse.
