Jennifer, know by her DPNow forum nickname of cowcrzy06, is the personality behind the camera in today's Picture of the Day. Jennifer has managed to capture a thoughtful look on the face of her daughter, Kim. The tight crop and use of black and white has definitely enhanced the picture.
"The picture was candid," explains Jennifer. "My daughter was watching her grandfather up on a ladder as he assisted my husband who was installing a new sliding door on the hay shed. I came in through another door and saw her there watching him and it was as if someone had aimed a sunbeam directly at her face. I quickly snapped a photo!"
That wasn't the end of the process. Some help was sought from the DPNow forum to get the most out of the original image: "I DID get some help from Stephen with editing this photo so I do give half credit to him with the editing."
And what about Jennifer, who uses a Canon EOS DSLR? "I live out in the country in the USA with my husband and three children who, are 14, seven, three . I love photography and being outdoors. We have a small farm where we raise cattle and have other properties where we grow corn and soyabeans." Jennifer hasn't been on the DPNow forum as much as usual, recently. She explains: "I have been MIA (missing in action) from DPNow for quite awhile now due to me setting up a business. I am hoping that will change in the next few months as I miss this forum dearly!"

We are always on the look out for great pictures posted to the user-galleries here on DPNow. POTDs are selected from the gallery and featured every week day. The gallery facility here is completely free; all you need to do is register as a user on our discussion forum and you will get an automatic 25MB of space, which is good for around 125 pictures uploaded at web resolution, about 200K per picture. At the time of writing we had nearly 10,000 pictures on the galleries and it's well worth a browse.
