Colour Specialists assist new Photographic talent
Fresh from printing images for an exhibition in the Cotswolds for internationally acclaimed flower and garden photographer Clive Nichols, Leicester based printing colour specialists, ColourMaster Images, are now working with Sally Smith, a 2008 Finalist in the Garden Photographer of the Year competition in Devon for her first exhibition of her work, entitled ‘Portfolio of a Garden’.
The exhibition, which will be held at her studio at Wild Rose Cottage in the village of Ashprington, near Totnes in Devon, is part of this year's Devon Open Studios event, which is a series of nine Art Trails, each with its own map will run across different areas of Devon between September 6-21. This yearly event, organised by Devon Artist Network, includes over 350 artists, cover many media photographers, painting, film, multi media, textiles, drawing and ceramics
The ‘Portfolio of a Garden’ exhibition, located in the South Hams Art Trail and displays plant portraits captured from the photographer’s garden, runs from 6th September until the 14th of September, is open daily from 10.30am-4.30pm. Admission is free and visitors are also very welcome to view the garden but please note, no dogs are allowed.
David Leedham of ColourMaster Images is delighted to be working with Sally for her first exhibition. Commenting on the portfolio David said, "Sally's work shows a very subtle touch. She has created a selection of incredibly engaging studies of flowers and foliage, beautifully emphasising the form, texture and colour of the subject".
ColourMaster Images print the pictures at a resolution of 2,800 x 1,440 dpi, on Epson Stylus Pro printers combined with Epson UltraChrome Ink, driven by an ImageHunter RIP supplied by FijiFilm. The media is Bright White 310gs Hahnemühle Photo Rag supplied by FotoSpeed of Corsham, Wiltshire.
The results give a consistent colour quality required for the subtle hues of Sally’s work
In addition to the September exhibition in Devon, David is currently working to identify other venues around the country to exhibit Clive Nichols photographic but would also be delighted to work with new or established photographers to working with them to s for their own exhibitions of their work.
