Your invitation to get involved with an exciting new film project from Sony Ericsson
To celebrate the launch of the Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-shot™ we’ve teamed up with Oscar nominated film director Mike Figgis to create ‘Life Captured’ - a pioneering new short film made entirely out of mobile phone photos taken by everyday people.
Mike and Sony Ericsson are inviting anyone who wants to showcase their life to submit a storyboard consisting of five mobile phone snapshots. Simply visit www.sonyericsson.com/lifecapturedcompetition and upload your storyboard of images today.
National winners from 19 participating countries across Europe (including the UK), the Middle East and Africa will be chosen and briefed by Mike Figgis to shoot their part of the new ‘Life Captured’ film with a new Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-Shot™.
After viewing all of the submitted storyboards, Mike will select a national winner from each participating country who shows the most potential. They will then receive a personal brief by the director to capture the images for the final film.
Internationally renowned Mike Figgis is best-known for his experimental and ground-breaking techniques in film-making, which have seen him win seven sought-after film awards and nominations for 14 others including two Oscars for Leaving Las Vegas. ‘Life Captured’ is set to be no exception; from content, to score, to production and beyond, the final cut will be a first of its kind.
Mike Figgis Life Captured Director, said: “Making a moving film out of everyday people’s still snapshots was a challenging brief but I was instantly inspired by Sony Ericsson’s aim to reveal an unseen side of life across so many countries. Mobile phone photographs are increasingly being used as an immediate and exciting way to capture life as it happens. This intriguing film will compare every day happenings and personal moments, providing a window into people’s private worlds previously unseen.”
Each national winner will have four weeks to answer the brief using the cutting edge Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot™ C902 cameraphone, a new handset that enables an unrivalled level of speed – and spontaneity - in cameraphone photography. The director will then piece together the images to create ‘Life Captured’.
Mike will nominate five Outstanding Achievers who will win a VIP trip for them and a friend to attend the film’s red carpet premiere at the Raindance Film Festival in London in October 2008.

‘Life Captured’ will premiere at the 16th Raindance Film Festival in London on the 2nd October 2008 and the five Outstanding Achievers from ‘Life Captured’ with Sony Ericsson, selected from the top 21 around the world, will be there to join in the party.
