PIXMA office All-In-One brings revolutionary print technology to market
United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, 24 January, 2008: Canon today announces a revolution in home and small to medium office printing with the launch of PIXMA MX7600, the first All-In-One inkjet printer to use the revolutionary PgR ink technology. Thanks to PgR, PIXMA MX7600 produces high quality prints on plain paper with laser-like text, sharp, vibrant graphics and stunning photos to add a professional touch to your most important prints.
The PIXMA MX7600 brings increased versatility to users; with a single unit they can now service their everyday printing needs, as well as producing laser quality marketing materials. PIXMA MX7600 features high speed copying, scanning and fax capabilities, together with superior quality document printing, and photo lab quality prints.
“With the announcement of PIXMA MX7600, Canon brings a revolutionary and highly competitive product to the marketplace,” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging, Europe. “With its enhanced printing quality, this premium All-In-One opens up new possibilities for inkjet printing in the small and home office arena. PIXMA MX7600 allows users to consolidate their printing capabilities in a single multi-purpose unit, as well as offering expanded printing capabilities with photo and presentation printing.”
PgR – a revolution in Inkjet
With Canon’s unique Pigment Reaction (PgR) technology, presentation-quality text, graphics and photographs can now be printed on plain paper, without the dangers of ‘show-through,’ print curling, bleeding, scuffing or the images washing off with moisture. PgR brings savings to small businesses or workgroups with low-volume colour printing requirements: it consolidates all printing tasks – as well as copy, scan and fax functions – in a single unit; and it enables the printing of high quality materials on low-cost plain paper.
PgR works by coating the paper with clear ink as it travels towards the print head. Canon Lucia pigment inks bond to the clear ink – improving saturation, brightness and ink fixation. The curling, ink bleeding, and ‘show-through’ sometimes associated with colour inkjet printing is all-but eliminated by the chemical bonding of the inks, resulting in high-contrast, moisture and highlighter-resistant prints.
PIXMA MX7600 uses the PGI-9 (C, M, Y & PBk) Lucia cartridges used by the PIXMA Pro9500, together with two PIXMA MX7600-specific inks – PGI-9 Clear for the pre-coating and PGI-7BK as a high capacity, high intensity black for document printing. Compared to traditional pigment inks, Lucia inks offer improved colour density, image stability and durability.
Inkjet Productivity Centre
PIXMA MX7600 is the consummate office multifunctional inkjet device – versatile, responsive and swift. With a Quick Start time of approx. 5 seconds from the moment the Power key is pressed, the unit is ready to print, copy, scan or fax in moments. Quick print (28ppm Mono/23ppm Colour) and copy (28 cpm Mono/ 23 cpm Colour) times are complemented by two paper feeders, which minimise the time spent loading or changing media, plus auto duplexing for print, copy and scan. PIXMA MX7600 has built-in Ethernet networking capability, enabling remote printing and scanning from any machine on the network. The 33.6kbps Super G3 fax modem keeps waiting time and transmission costs to the absolute minimum.
Exceptional quality
The PIXMA MX7600 offers exceptional quality in all of its functions. When printing, the FINE print heads achieve subtle colour gradations and superior quality documents in seconds. Canon’s copier heritage shines through with Dual Colour Gamut Processing Technology – a technology that gives exceptionally faithful colour reproduction, whether copying documents or photos.
Not only is the PIXMA MX7600 the office All-In-One of choice, but as befits its PIXMA heritage, is also a fully-featured Photo All-In-One. Compatible with a range of high-quality Canon media including Canon photo papers, the PIXMA MX7600 produces photo-lab quality borderless prints in 43 seconds, Auto Image Fix can improve the quality of photographs where necessary by using face detection and scene analysis to optimise areas such as face tone and brightness, colour fogging and over/under exposure. Photographs can be transferred directly to the printer from cameras and similar devices, either with PIXMA MX7600’s memory card slots (compatible with most popular formats) or via PictBridge.
