Vote for November's Picture of the Month
The DPNow galleries are packed full of wildlife shots, especially birds, but one of the other popular picture topics is coastal and river views.
BigBob's Picture of the Day is a delightful view along the mudflats of the Medway river in Kent, south east England.
Bob explains: "I'm 56 and work self employed in the construction industry. I travel a lot but, unfortunately, can't always carry my SLR with me.
"This picture was taken with a Fuji S3 Pro a couple of years ago during a walk with the dog on a summers evening along the banks of the River Medway.
"The setting sun showing the texture of the mud just drew me to this shot. I composed the shot so the stream led the eye into the center of the frame. The cloud was a bonus as was the boat.
Picture taking is not a new pastime for Bob: "Photography is now taking up more than half my working week and although I've been involved for over 40 years taking pictures, I'm still learning.

Apart from the splendid view portrayed in the picture, one aspect that interests me particularly is the limited frame of reference for size. Although there is a boat in the distance, Bob could have been up in a plane or standing on the flats - it's difficult to know which and this is rather fascinating.
