Wacom partnering with Adobe on a joint stand

Wacom, the leading manufacturer of pen tablets and Interactive Pen Displays, will be sharing a stand with Adobe to exhibit its range of pen tablets for digital photography. The recently expanded Intuos3 range, including the Intuos3 A5 Wide, the new Intuos3 A3 Wide and Intuos3 A4 Oversize tablets, and the Cintiq 21UX, will be on display for professional photographers and imaging enthusiasts. The Graphire4 range, a range of pen tablets aimed at amateur photographers will also be on show.
Robin Preston, senior Wacom evangelist will be on the Wacom and Adobe stand demonstrating Wacom pen tablets with Adobe software for digital workflow.
Robin studied illustration at St. Martins School of Art in London and went on to work for a renowned retouching house in London. He later became director and co owner of a large professional colour laboratory in Germany.
During the 1990's he moved his company to the largest litho group in Holland to work for the advertising industry and was also involved with Dicomed in the USA, one of the first companies to produce a high-resolution digital camera. He now works as a digital artist and photographer for large agencies throughout Europe and America. He has been using a Wacom tablet for the past twenty years.
Wacom's pen tablets on display
Intuos3 provides extended functionality through the ExpressKeys and Touch Strip. The ExpressKeys are four-button keypads that can be pre-configured with frequently used modifier keys and the Touch Strip acts like a scroll bar with presets to allow zooming and scrolling. Situated on the left and right hand side of the tabletıs active area, users can directly access functions such as pan and zoom, cut, copy, paste and undo at the touch of a fingertip. For high precision work, each Intuos3 tablet also offers a resolution of 5,080 dpi and 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity in both the pen tip and eraser.
The Intuos3 range has recently been extended to include the Intuos3 A5 Wide, A3 Wide and the A4 Oversize. The Intuos3 A5 Wide provides an active area of 6x11 inches and comes in a 16:10 aspect ratio, more closely matching the dimensions of widescreen displays. The Intuos3 A4 Oversize offers an active area of 12x12 inches (304.8 x 304.8mm) for working both horizontally and vertically in A4 size. The Intuos3 A3 Wide is the largest pen tablet in the Intuos series and is ideal for use with large widescreen displays as it has an active area of 12x19 inches (304.8 x 487.6mm). It has a wide aspect ratio of 16:10. The Intuos3 A3 Wide and A4 Oversize are available in two versions, CAD or DTP. CAD Includes the Intuos3 Lens Cursor providing a clear line of sight for both left and right-handed users. The DTP set-up comes with an Intuos3 Grip Pen equipped with a double side switch and eraser enabling a natural feel to painting and drawing.
The Cintiq 21UX is an Interactive Pen Display that provides the perfect pen-paper alternative. It enables users to draw, scribble, animate or navigate directly on the liquid crystal display with the cordless, battery-free and pressure sensitive pen. Working with the pen on the display facilitates perfect hand-eye co-ordination meaning most jobs can be done faster and therefore more efficiently.
Graphire4 is ideal for enhanced precision in photo editing, video editing and graphics applications. There are four models in the range, the Classic, Classic XL, Studio and Studio XL. The Studio and Studio XL versions include Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 and nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 Standard the ideal combination of digital imaging hardware and software. Graphire4 Classic and Classic XL versions are aimed at consumers who already own image-editing software and are looking for an easier way to use their software to achieve better images.
