Scuba diving adventurers and snorkeling enthusiasts will love the innovative, snap-on design of the HP Photosmart Scuba/Underwater Camera Housing, which makes for quick and simple use. Capable of travelling to depths of up to 40 metres (130 feet), you’ll be able to capture even the deep dark recesses of the ocean floor. Designed to fit snugly around both the R817 and R818 cameras, the housing provides unobstructed access to all the functions and controls on the camera, including the 5.1 cm LCD screen, flash and zoom lens.
These small compact cameras can fit neatly into your jacket pocket or beach bag and are ready to use in an instant. Both cameras feature the same sleek, smooth, elegant design and incorporate the signature wave styled finger grip, which features on all of the HP R-series range. The style conscious can choose either the shiny silver finish of the HP Photosmart R817 Digital Camera or the midnight grey metallic casing of the R818, both of which will definitely stand out in a crowd - or school of fish - depending on where you are.
With 5.1 megapixel (MP) resolution, the HP Photosmart R817 and R818 digital cameras give you the opportunity to capture crisp true-to-life detail in all of your photographs. With 40x total zoom, these cameras are ideal to get close up pictures of your favourite underwater creatures and scenery, making tiny fish and sea-horses look like gigantic monsters of the deep.
To help you capture the true spirit of all your favourite moments, both cameras come equipped with a host of new HP Real Life Technologies. These allow you to remove red-eye, adjust the brightness of your images, or ‘stitch’ together up to five photos of landscapes or underwater sequences, without having to connect to a PC. For greater creative control these cameras offer you a choice of 15 unique shooting modes including action, landscape, beach and theatre mode.
Another ingenious feature is the ‘video mode’, which makes it easy to capture the sights and sounds of the underwater world with picture perfect quality. When back on dry land, video ‘stills’ can then be extracted and printed directly from your footage, without the need for a PC, increasing your chance of capturing a perfect photograph.
