Rollei unveils new 3 megapixel slimline
by Ian Burley

Rollei brand aims for mainstream customers

Rollei is an old name that is trying to make a come back in the digital world. Once famous for its twin lens reflex (TLR) cameras and ultra-compact 35mm models, Rollei even made a 35mm SLR with interchangeable film backs.

These days the company makes specialist digital cameras for industrial use as well as a limited line of consumer cameras. Today Rollei is launching a new slimline 3 megapixel point and shoot model aimed squarely at the mass market.

The Rollei DC3100 is an ultra-simple design with the emphasis placed on ease of use. 16MB of internal memory is supplemented by a SD/MMC memory card slot. The DC3100 is also able to shoot video clips.

For more on the Rollei DC3100, see the story over at Letsgodigital.
