Epson improves P-2000 and eases supply situation
by Ian Burley

Welcome improvements to the remarkable Epson P-2000 portable multimedia storage album - and its availability - are on the way

Read our review - Epson P-2000 multimedia storage album review.

Epson has responded to some criticisms that several reviews of the P-2000 portable multimedia storage album, including ours, highlighted, including limited support for RAW format image files and an 8.9 megapixel resolution display limit. A wider range of RAW formats is promised, though we don't yet have precise details, while the megapixel limit will be substantially raised to accommodate most camera resolutions currently on the market.

Future batches of the P-2000 will have modified firmware that incorporates the specification changes and we're told that existing owners will be able to upgrade their firmware too.

Demand for the P-2000, which earned an Editors Choice rating from us despite some shortcomings, took Epson by surprise and many suppliers have been unable to obtain stocks since its launch late last year.

Thankfully, the supply situation appears to be easing, with Amazon UK, at least, shipping back orders to customers this week.
