Welcome to DPNow's special coverage of the 2005 PMA Show. The show proper, which is the annual showcase for the US photographic industry, is run by the Photo Marketing Association (
PMA) and it takes place between Sunday, 20th February and Wednesday, 23rd February. Outside of Japan, PMA is the most important annual photo industry event and
the launch pad of the year for most manufacturers.
We have covered the previous two PMA shows, which were held in Las Vegas. In 2003 we were the first publication to bring a hands-on
illustrated report from PMA concerning the new and, yet-to-be-named, Olympus E-1 DSLR system.
This year's show has moved back to a previous venue at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. For our third PMA visit, we're planning our best coverage yet. You can even
register to be alerted via email when new stories from the show are published.
In fact our show coverage has been going for weeks now as it's become routine for the industry to roll out their new cameras and accessories in advance of PMA. We're hoping and expecting that not all the surprises have been revealed before PMA and, of course, we'll be bringing news of any exciting announcements as soon as we can.

But a lot of sites will be regurgitating the same press releases. So we'll be out there looking for unique stories, looking beyond the PR machine.
