ORLANDO (PMA 2005, Booth 3032), Feb. 19, 2005 -- Sony Electronics today introduced the slimline PictureStation digital photofinishing kiosk, which is designed to take up about half the floor space of conventional kiosks.

The slimline model fits into an array of retail environments. The freestanding unit is just 17 inches wide, yet shares the same software features and ease of operation as the full-sized "deluxe" PictureStation.

The latest kiosk model includes Sony's new UP-DR150 digital photo printer, the industry's fastest dye sublimation printer capable of producing stunning 4x6 prints in just 8 seconds and 5x7 prints in only 15 seconds.

"The new slimline form factor fits in virtually any retail setting generating satisfied customers and profits," said Jay Dellostretto, vice president for digital photofinishing in Sony Electronics' Broadcast and Business Solutions Company. "With our new dye sublimation printer, the new slimline kiosk will quickly raise consumer expectations by establishing a powerful differentiation between the PictureStation brand and others."

Large Scale Success in a Scaled-Down Size
The slimline PictureStation takes the user-friendly, self-service aspect and simple maintenance that have distinguished PictureStation kiosks into a 63 inches (H) x 17 inches (W) x 23 inches (D) package. For both novice and expert digital photographers, the generous screen size and menu-driven commands provide the ability to create layouts and collages, add text and even to modify images from color into black and white or sepia tone.

The slimline kiosk will produce in wallet, 3 1/2 x5", 4x6", 5x7", or 6x8" sizes. For retailers, generating crisp, clear prints customer after customer is effortless with either wireless or wired credit card capabilities to maximize sales.

Dellostretto noted that the UP-DR150 high speed printer will be standard in both the slimline and the Deluxe full-sized PictureStation kiosks, adding significantly to the retail experience by delivering the prints customers want -- immediately. In addition, the printer delivers high-quality prints with life-like, continuous tones that essentially replicate the natural warmth of quality film prints.

Configurations, Availability and Pricing
The slimline kiosk is available with either a single or dual UP-DR150 printer option. The PS150SLM1/BL with a single printer will be available in March at a suggested list price of $7,995. The PS150SLM2/BL with dual printers will also be available in March with a suggested list price of $9,995.
