Lexmark's P915 photo printer with stand-alone direct printing capability
Sharing the same advanced ink-jet printing technology platform as the Lexmark
P6250 all-in-one we looked at a few weeks ago, Lexmark's new 4800dpi P915 photo printer uses true intermediate shade photo inks for enhanced quality photo printing. Unique to Lexmark, a combination of dyes and pigments are used to produce a set of hybrid inks that combine the wide colour gamut of dye-based inks and the proven resistance to fading of pigment-based inks. When high-speed, high-quality, plain paper printing is required, you can substitute the P915's photo colour cartridge for a pigment black cartridge optimised for text printing on plain paper.
Also featuring a large and bright LCD colour monitor for previewing and editing photos to be printed, even without a PC attached, the P915 can print directly from most memory card types as well as PictBridge-compatible cameras and produce borderless photo prints up to A4 size. The emphasis is on ease of use, whether using the printer directly or its powerful photo optimising software for your computer.
