Digital Print World Seminars Speak Out On Industry Issues

London, UK, 28 September 2004: Digital Print World, Olympia 2, 26 - 28 October 2004, London's only event to showcase digital printing technology from creation through to production, will be packed full of seminars, conferences and Masterclasses, tackling a wide range of topical issues.

Building on the successful interactive formula at Digital Print World 2003, this year's event will feature a number of displays designed to inspire and educate visitors in all things digital. Industry experts and successful digital printers will be tackling all the issues of digital print business, from: guiding visitors through the technology maze, the dos and don'ts of database management, the realities and potential of variable data, personalisation, and successful marketing.

All visitors, from marketing professionals, brand managers, print buyers, corporate print specifiers including DVLA, L'Oreal UK, Ministry of Defence, Tesco Stores, The Home Office and The National Trust, through to designers and printers, have the chance to participate in any of the events throughout three days and get involved in discussing the current trends and issues with significant industry figureheads.

Pira will host four Masterclasses featuring their experts' impartial insights into digital print technologies that impact upon business today. For just £59 for each 90-minute Masterclass, delegates can get inside the minds of the industry's pioneers and select from the following cutting-edge sessions: Pre-press for Digital Printing - Marcus Scott-Taggart, Chief Consultant, provides an update into the ideal one-stop technology on prepress developments including workflow integration, management system implementation, colour management and proofing from customer to printer; Inkjet printing for packaging and electronics - Mike Hancock, Managing Director, gives an insight into the exciting potential of inkjet technologies and digitally printed electronics; John Birkenshaw, Manager of Prepress & Printing discusses Digital printing for books, magazines, newspapers, transactional and other commercial printing - highlighting relevant technical developments and recent innovations affecting the use of digital print wi thin each market sector; and in Business Strategies, new and emerging markets for digital printing he identifies the unique characteristics of digital print and how this impacts who to sell to and what to sell. Synergies with electronic media and how these can be exploited will be scrutinised, as well as company culture, structure and image for a digital print business.

The BPIF is once again providing free, independent, focused and relevant advice on issues from business planning through to selling the digital value or the risk factors of going digital at its Business Advice Centre. For undergraduates, The London College of Communications (formerly LCP) will be holding its Futures Conference. Held across the three-day event the conferences will invite senior members of the print and publishing sector to speak and provide students with an insight into where the industry is going.
