On 1st November the world of art and music will combine to mark the launch of the new Web site www.rockarchive.com - which gives rock music fans a chance to collect pictures of their favourite artists at affordable prices.

For starters, there is a limited edition of 100 archival ink-jet prints, many of the prints will be produced on using EPSON Stylus Pro 5500 printers. These professional level photo ink-jet printers are designed to deliver up to 100 years lightfastness under typical photo storage conditions.

Artists Gered Mankowitz, Storm Thorgerson, Barrie Wentzell, Matt Anker and Fernando Aceves - have been invited to join rock photographer Jill Furmanovsky in order to contribut five unusual or unseen photographs from their own extensive archives to create the unique collection of art ink-jet prints.

Furmanovsky explains: "The rockarchive.com Web site will provide archival art inkjet prints to order in a number of collectable limited editions.  By using the EPSON Stylus Pro 5500, I am able to produce prints in-house when they are needed. I am also confident that larger prints produced on its big brother, the Stylus Pro 7500 will produce excellent results for each customer every time.

"Rockarchive aims to provide the public with high quality unusual images from rock and roll's hidden visual history. But an historical document needs to look as good as new in 20 years time, or better still, 100 years time, not just meeting but exceeding the buyers expectations.

“I was one of the first photographers to use EPSON technology at the ground-breaking Oasis 'Was There Then' Exhibition in 1997. The EPSON prints made then are still looking good, and that was before archival technology. These new printers and inks are even better!"
