This year’s annual degree show by photography students at the London College of Printing started yesterday and Digital Photography Now! went along. Sponsored by Hewlett-Packard, the event is titled “Suckcess”. Held at the LCP’s Clerkenwell campus in Back Hill, until this Friday 22nd June, the show reveals extensive use of digital imaging resources.
Many of the exhibits are digitally printed and a favourite effect this year appears to be the use of collage techniques for creating surreal effects, like a tube station façade in the middle of wooded park land, for example. Another exhibit that caught our eye featured the use of unusual print media, like used pages from a lecture notebook and even rolls of graph paper.
The show is a definite thought-provoker and an impressive showcase for the thirty plus students’ imaginations. It’s well worth a visit if you are in the area.
