HP digicam baby is sub £100

We first brought news of HP’s sub-£100 Photosmart 120 camera last month (click here).

But at the time we didn’t have any photos of the new one megapixel starter camera from HP.

Just to recap, the Photosmart 120 has most of the attributes of a full-spec. digital camera, including a compact flash memory card slot to complement 4MB of fixed internal memory, a built in flash, a colour LCD view screen, 2x digital zoom and a video clip mode that can produces sequences over half a minute long.

A lot of us may not exactly be turned on by the relatively low specification of the Photosmark 120, but as an affordable beginners camera, HP is to be congratulated in bringing to market a camera under £100. This is a lot better than a much simpler Webcam that can be used untethered to its host PC.
