Official HP press release: HP Introduces Point-and Shoot Digital Camera for First-time Users
17 April, 2002 - Hewlett-Packard Company today announces its most affordable digital camera, the HP Photosmart 120. The new camera features an updated design that feels like a point-and-shoot camera but delivers all the benefits and versatility of digital technology. The HP Photosmart 120 is specifically designed for first-time users who want technology that is simple, affordable and easy to learn and use. “At £99 the HP Photosmart 120 is HP’s most affordable digital camera,” said Tim Potter, HP’s UK Image Capture Product Manager. “HP has introduced a compact, easy-to-use digital camera that is perfect for consumers taking their first steps into the digital camera market. The HP Photosmart 120 allows families and first-time users to take great quality photos and short video clips that make sharing images and special moments simple and fun.” The stylish HP Photosmart 120 digital camera has 1 megapixel resolution, 4MB of internal memory and enables users to capture, save and replay special memories using its’ 35 second video clip functionality. A 3.6cm colour LCD screen displays what is about to be shot through a live view and intuitive controls enable images to be quickly and easily downloaded to a PC. Photos from the HP Photosmart 120 can be printed directly to an HP Photosmart printer using a compact flash memory card, without having to turn a PC on.
