The original story - click here. ** STOP PRESS ** KODAK RELENTS - CLICK HERE FOR UPDATE Here at Digital Photography Now the furore over Kodak’s DX3700 pricing mistake seems to have abated almost as quickly as it flared up on 5th January. After we published some less than encouraging feedback from Trading Standards officers who advised against pursuing the matter with Kodak, emails on the subject from our readers dried up overnight. However, Kodak hasn’t been let off the hook just yet. Two rallying points on the Internet for disappointed customers, www.richardruane.co.uk and www.kodakcamera.co.uk, appear to be maintaining the pressure on the photographic giant. DPN has previously urged Kodak to turn this PR disaster to their advantage by settling the dispute. It may cost Kodak a pretty penny, but in advertising terms we would have thought it was worth every penny. Instead, Kodak is steadfast in its refusal to honour orders. This has resulted in the company attracting legal challenge. According to IT industry news site, The Register, London law firm Beale & Co. has formally filed proceedings against Kodak on behalf of a customer and the case is set to be heard at Ilford County Court in the spring. With this week’s news that Kodak lost over US$200 million (£143 million) in the final quarter of last year, maybe it’s not surprising that the company is unwilling to be generous at this time. | |||
