Nikon announces 4MP version of CoolPix 885

The established Nikon CoolPix 885, a 3 megapixel model, now has a new sibling that boasts a 4 megapixel picture resolution. Almost visually identical at a glance, the new Nikon CoolPix 4300 may sound like it should look like the recently introduced 4500 model (click here) but it is in fact a direct relative of the 885.

Available from October, with a suggested retail price of £449.99, the CP4300 has a 38-114 equivalent (3x) zoom, Nikon’s famed close focussing ability (down to 4cm), 8 seconds-1/1000th second shutter speed and is supplied with FotoStation Easy, Nikon View, Panorama Maker and Photoshop Elements software.

Many outlets have reported that they are without stocks of the 885 during this summer, but Nikon specifically indicates that this model will continue alongside the new 4300.
