Twist-body CP-4500 completes the picture

It’s 9AM UK time and there is still no sign of the promised new Nikon UK Web site materialising.

Instead, we can bring you first pictures of the third and final member of Nikon’s new CoolPix trio (click here to see the other two); it’s the CoolPix 4500 and for fans of the CoolPix 9xx series of twist body designs, the 4500 must be a relief as it continues the tradition. The good news is that the 4500 offers significant improvements over its immediate predecessor, the CP-995. There is a 4 megapixel sensor and it’s more compact and light thanks to a magnesium alloy body.

Phil Askey at London-based mega-site Digital Photography Review has enjoyed privileged access to all three of the new CoolPix family members and has very detailed hands-on previews.
