Limited Edition Kodak EasyShare LS420 Digital Camera Blends Style with One-Touch Simplicity

Sleek EasyShare LS420 Offers On-Camera Print Tagging & Video

[London, 23rd April 2002] - Eastman Kodak Company today announces the debut of the Kodak EasyShare LS420 Digital Camera - a chic, sleek 2.1 Megapixel

(MP) camera designed as an everyday lifestyle accessory and engineered for simplicity.  As part of the Kodak EasyShare System, the recognised industry standard for ease-of-use, the LS420 allows consumers to transfer, print and e-mail pictures with one touch simplicity. This limited edition digital camera also comes with its own EasyShare Camera Dock, carrying case and a rechargeable battery pack and will be available through specialist photography retail outlet, Jessops, around mid-May at a recommended retail price of £249.99.

The EasyShare LS420 Camera with its compact, fashionable shape can easily be dropped into the smallest of pockets or handbags.  The stylish camera's aluminium body only weighs 160g, yet delivers high quality photo prints up to 10x8"/20x25 cm via its 2.1MP resolution, all glass aspheric lens with continuous 3X digital zoom and Kodak colour science technology. Consumers can also capture video clips and "select" pictures in the camera to print automatically when they dock the LS420.

"Similar to a mobile phone or palm-top, consumers will no doubt want to make room in their bag of techno-goodies to have this cool limited edition camera on hand to capture and share everyday moments," said Gareth Jones, Regional Manager and Vice President of Kodak's Digital & Applied Imaging division. "The Kodak EasyShare LS420 breaks the mould by packaging Kodak's award-winning digital photography experience - ease-of-use, simple organization and great prints - in a fresh and fun little camera."

Features Enhanced Ease-of-Use and Picture QualityThe EasyShare LS420's simple to control 5-way joystick allows consumers to easily review and work with their pictures on the camera.  Users can choose their favourite pictures to print and then select the number of prints they require with the new on-camera print button*.  After docking the camera, users can decide whether to print these pictures at home with inkjet media or upload for online processing.

The LS420 improves the user's ability to capture the moment with its 8 MB of internal memory and MMC/SD expansion slot, its quick powering-up and rapid click-to-click capability.  The camera's rechargeable battery provides extended battery life to enable picture takers to keep shooting longer - up to 250 pictures or 60 minutes of video.

The EasyShare LS420's video capture function allows users to record and review video clips.  The camera has a built-in microphone to capture audio, and users can review video clips on their PC and/or TV with full sound or share them with family and friends. Kodak EasyShare System

Like all Kodak EasyShare Cameras, the LS420 ships with the easy-to-install Kodak Picture Software that allows customers to print high quality pictures at home on their inkjet printers.  The software's One Touch to Better Pictures feature colour-matches the image and automatically changes the printer driver settings to ensure the best prints possible on Kodak Premium and Ultima Picture Paper - all at the touch of a button.  In addition to printing at home, the software offers users an easy path to obtain prints via the Internet.

The EasyShare LS420 Camera Dock makes it simple to move pictures from the camera to a computer by automatically uploading images with the press of a button.  The EasyShare Camera Dock quickly recharges the camera's battery after picture transfer, keeping the camera always ready for use.
