Konica Minolta introduces the DiMAGE G530
Released by Konica Minolta:

DiMAGE G530: 5-Megapixel CCD, Proprietary 3X Optical Zoom Lens, and High-Speed Operation in a Slim and Stylish Package

Unterföhring, July 7th, 2004 - The DiMAGE G530 is a cut above the competitions in image quality, operability, and design. This sharp-looking, slim 23-mm-thin digital camera boasts a 5-megapixel CCD, lightning-fast response in all operations, and dual card slots for SD Memory Card and Memory Stick.

The stylish DiMAGE G530 has a 5-megapixel CCD, one of the highest resolutions for a compact digital camera. The high-performance GT Hexanon is a proprietary 3X optical zoom lens consisting of seven elements in six groups. This lens system minimizes flare and aberrations, which gives sharp, high-contrast images. Konica Minolta's proprietary signal processing engine and A*IPS image processing technology ensure that anyone can take high-quality pictures that capture the subject in sharp, real-life detail.

The DiMAGE G530 also fulfills the need for operational speed. With an approximately 0.8-second startup time*1, an approximately 0.25-second focusing time, and incredible shutter response with an approximately 0.03-second shutter-release time lag*3, you can be sure of capturing that instantaneous smile on your child's face or any other precious but fleeting photo opportunity.

*2 From when the shutter-release button is fully pressed after focus lock to when the exposure starts

The built-in dual card slots accept two kinds of media: SD Memory Card and Memory Stick. This makes it possible to take and store large numbers of pictures, and to copy or move picture files from one medium to the other. By connecting the DiMAGE G530 to a PictBridge-compliant printer, you can print photos out directly without the need to go through a PC. And compatibility with a wide range of digital equipment means you can enjoy transferring and editing your images in a variety of ways.

The 23-mm-thin and beautiful fully flat DiMAGE G530 evokes high quality with its aluminium and stainless steel body. The sliding cover, which turns the power on and off, enhances portability because it allows you to put the camera in a pocket or bag knowing that the lens is protected. That's the DiMAGE G530: fun to shoot pictures with, fun to carry around, and fun to show to friends.

Features
5 Million Effective Pixels
The G530 has a 1/2.5-type interline primary-color CCD with a total of 5.4 million pixels, one of the highest for a compact digital camera. This high resolution plus Konica Minolta's proprietary Hybrid Adaptive A*IPS technology add up to faithful reproduction of every detail of every subject.

3X Optical GT Hexanon Zoom Lens
The 3X optical GT Hexanon zoom lens uses Konica Minolta's own internal reflection processing to give high-resolution images with minimal flare and aberrations. The lens system design, consisting of seven elements in six groups with three aspheric lenses, keeps the DiMAGE G530 thin.

Fast 0.8-second Startup: You'll Never Miss a Photo Opportunity
Our proprietary signal processing engine enables a fast startup time of approximately 0.8-second. In addition, you get incredibly fast shutter response: the shutter-release time lag-the time from when the shutter-release button is pressed after AF/AE lock to when the exposure starts-is only 0.03-second.

Fast Focusing with Rapid AF
Innovative, rapid CCD video AF technology achieves precise focus metering in approximately 0.25 seconds. Focusing is fast and accurate under almost any shooting conditions thanks to an advanced proprietary AF algorithm. All of these advances mean you can focus faster and capture moving subjects with greater reliability and precision.

Proprietary Hybrid Adaptive A*IPS Image Processing Technology
The DiMAGE G530 gives extraordinarily natural, faithful images, thanks to a proprietary algorithm that instantly calculates the ideal exposure, focus, and white balance values based on the corresponding exposure, focus, and color data received from the camera's CCD.

Fast 0.2-Second Playback Startup
You can call up and view pictures quickly and easily, no matter how many you've taken. It takes just 0.2 second for the last picture taken to appear on the LCD monitor, so your shots are conveniently there to review instantly, anytime and anywhere.

Dual Card Slots For Double the Convenience and Capacity
The dual card slots allow you to use either SD Memory Cards or Memory Sticks-or both-depending on your needs. This makes your DiMAGE G530 compatible with the widest possible range of digital equipment. Use both media types simultaneously for high-volume shooting and storage, change card types according to the application, and copy data from one card type to the other to significantly widen your data-management possibilities.

Thin Enough to Take Anywhere
Proprietary high-density technology and a drastic reduction in lens unit size have allowed us to offer a 3X optical zoom lens in an amazingly compact 23-mm-thin body. In addition to its take-anywhere dimensions, the DiMAGE G530 weighs only 145 g. It fits in your pocket with ease, and slips out just as easily whenever you're ready to shoot.

Stylish, High-Quality Body
The DiMAGE G530 looks as good as it performs. With its graceful combination of stainless steel and aluminum, the camera has a high-quality feeling that makes it a pleasure to own and use.
