China Camera Shootout

Released by Peter iNova:

China Camera Shootout

Photographer / Author Peter iNova has returned from China with the results of an extensive vacation camera shootout. Four cameras from Canon, Olympus and Nikon went along for the ride. Comparisons are drawn from carrying cameras that are compact, mid-size and dSLR format in 5, 6.3 and 8-megabyte formats.

China Girl Summer
This is the year of the affordable dSLR, but wait until you read the article before drawing conclusions. Things are often not as they seem.

To find ample subject matter, Beijing, Chongqing and Shanghai were explored along with an extended "all-weather" trip down the Yangtze River including the Three Gorges Dam construction site.

Nearly every photographic problem in the book that anyone would encounter while attempting digital vacation photography was encountered. From bright, sunny days to rainy weather; from glorious scenics to intimate indoor performances under stage lighting; from hushed museums to candids to images made hanging out a quarter mile above the sights below, the people and places of China were captured at every focal length, f-stop and shutter speed the cameras were capable of.

The six-page article presents nearly 200 images that will do two things: 1. Change your perspective on what today's digital photographic equipment can do for you, and 2. Change your perspective on China.

China Hot Fire
Much of this photography will appear in two coming new eBooks from collaborators Peter iNova and Uve Steinmueller. "dSLR: Canon Digital Rebel" and "dSLR: Nikon D70" due out later this summer and a third title, "dSLR: Olympus Four Thirds System" due out before Christmas.

Author iNova's current eBooks, "The Nikon Coolpix eBook" (formerly "Mastering Nikon Compact Digital Cameras") and "The Sony Advanced Cybershot eBook" are available through this site with special savings on postage.
