Nokia has added a cheap camera phone to its portfolio
Nokia has added a cheap camera phone (Nokia 3220) to its portfolio to claw-back market share from rivals, Samsung, Motorola, LG.
* Nokia's strategic focus on high-end phones has allowed competitors to steal market share.
* Nokia has said it will sacrifice margins in the short term to win back market share until its phone portfolio is more competitive.
* Consumer demand for mid-market camera phones is set to grow.
Angus Dawe, MD of the UK's second largest distribution company, Unique Distribution, comments: "Retailers have seen massive growth in demand for mid-range camera phones. This trend will continue with more choice being offered by more manufacturers. This is good news for consumers as competition will ultimately drive prices down."
