Leica Camera updates firmware for the Leica X1
Leica Camera presents a new firmware update for the Leica X1. Users wishing to bring their camera up to date can now download the firmware under ‘Updates' in the product section, expand the range of functions offered by the Leica X1 and take advantage of new, improved features.
The new firmware update offers improvements to the performance of the Leica X1 in several areas. For example, in the quality of images captured in JPEG format and in AF sensitivity, especially when shooting in low light or focusing on low contrast subjects. Both features have now been optimised. Further improvements have also been made in the handling of the camera. Manual focusing can now be set by the speed with which the setting wheel is turned. This enables much faster and simultaneously more precise setting. In addition to this, manual focus settings can now be saved and, thanks to the new firmware, users can choose whether they remain available after turning off and reactivating the camera.
Several display options of the X1 have also been revised in the new firmware update. For instance, the MF focusing bar is now displayed at a larger size, there is a new depth of focus display for manual focus settings and the ISO value is now also displayed in AUTO-ISO mode. The battery level indicator now features an additional setting option and thus enables better use of the battery capacity.
